A sari is a traditional female outfit with an elegant silhouette .
It this outfit is 3 separate pieces:
- A fitted blouse
- A petticoat for under the sari wrapping
- Long fabric that is called the sari, that is 6 yards long
A sari is the most common term used when people think about what do I wear to an Indian wedding. A sari worn by a woman is a very classy and elegant look, but it is complicated to tie around! It requires safety pins and is difficult to dance in. If you are set on wearing a sari, we recommend trying out on of our pre-pleated styles that are worn similar to a lehenga...which brings us to the next section!
A Lehenga is a traditional female outfit also with a very elegant silhouette, but it's much easier to put on!
This outfit can be upto 3 pieces as well!
- A fitted blouse
- A skirt
- A scarf that can be draped on your shoulder
When a female wedding guest wears a lehenga at an Indian wedding it is often the perfect outfit! It's very easy to put on and move around in, and is a beautiful formal style. Often times the lehenga will come with can-can underneath to add volume while moving around.
