Dawn, the founder of Coco Bombay, has travelled to India several times since 2008 and formed a deep love and respect for the culture of the country.
It was her love of Indian textiles and fabrics along with the desire to empower women that gave her the drive to create Coco Bombay. Dawn hires all of her seamstresses from Purnata charity, an organization in India that rescues women & children from sex trafficking. Her goal is to help them become financially independent and regain their autonomy.
She sources all hand-embroidered fabric from different regions of India, and each piece you see below is sewn by these women.
