Wedding plans interrupted by Covid-19? We're here for you.
This is an unprecedented time in history - as COVID-19 sweeps throughout the world and our nation, it leaves behind a trail of uncertainty, anxiety, and grief.
We hope that you, your family, and your loved ones are doing well. Nothing is more important than good health. We urge you to take every precaution to ensure that you are protected and staying safe.
That being said, we did want to acknowledge how heartbreaking this situation is for our community in particular - a wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that many of us have planned for and dreamt of our entire lives. Brides and grooms are at the center of everything we do here at Riya Collective, and it is unfathomable to us that they are now faced with the difficult decision of potentially cancelling or postponing a milestone event that has been months, and even years in the making.
We stand by you, and though this may be a time of physical isolation, it is also a time where we must rise together, in unity. At the core of our mission, beyond that of making South Asian clothing accessible in a sustainable way, is something even greater. Connecting with your culture and discovering other cultures is one of life’s greatest joys. A huge part of South Asian culture is relationships and community - when times are tough, we lean on one another to weather the storm.
With that in mind, we have created Riya Rises - a community designed to help brides, grooms, and vendors who are planning South Asian weddings navigate this difficult time. There, we plan to have events, information and resources to support and uplift you. We hope you will join the collective, so that we can create this safe haven together.
With love and hope,
Sarina Siddhanti & Arian Agrawal
